Afterschool Classes

5-week class
Tuesdays 3:30-5:30pm
March 7 – April 4th
$350 I Ages 5-8 I Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture — Park Slope
Using recyclables, natural materials, papier mache, plaster, clay, and more, we will be creating small worlds and dioramas that will transport us worlds away! Our students will replicate far flung scenes in the world such as a marketplace in Marrakech, Kailasa temple in India, and the Wudang mountains in China. As we develop our pieces, we will also be learning about the cultures depicted.

7-week class
Tuesdays 3:30-5:30pm
April 25 – June 6th
$490 I Ages 5-8 I Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture — Park Slope
Using recyclables, natural materials, papier mache, plaster, clay, and more, we will be creating small worlds and dioramas that will transport us worlds away! As we move into springtime and outdoor classes in Prospect Park, our intimate class will be looking at examples of land art and ephemeral art by artists such as Andy Goldsworthy, Richard Schilling, Robert Smithson, and Nils Udo and creating our own land art using natural materials found in the park. Classes will take place outdoors during light rains, and indoors at 53 Prospect Park West if there are heavy rains or thunderstorms. We will meet at the 9th street entrance of the park. Ask us about the possibility of a drop off at home if you live within 5 blocks of 9th street entrance.
Weekend Classes

5-week class
Saturdays 9:30am-12pm
April 29, May 6, May 20, May 27, June 3 (no class May 13)
$200 I Ages 6-10 I Prospect Park 9th St Entrance
In this Saturday weekend class, our nature enthusiasts will venture to Prospect Park’s hidden spots and examine the edible, medicinal, folkloric and spiritual value of various plants and trees in our park. In each hands-on class, we will learn traditional crafting methods and we invite students to interact closely with natural materials. Classes will take place during light rains, but will be cancelled (refunds will be issued) if there are heavy rains or thunderstorms.

4-week class
Saturday afternoons 2:30pm-5:30pm
April 29 – May 27 (no class May 13)
$160 I Ages 9-12 I Prospect Park 9th St Entrance
