Festivals in Asia
Thursdays 3:30-5:30pm at The Brooklyn Society For Ethical Culture
March 2 – March 16 (3 week class) $200
Ages 6-10
We will be exploring the traditions, foods and dress related to festivals in Asia in this exciting and colorful series! In each class, we will also be creating art related to these festivals. This class will be taught by Gigi indoors at our beautiful classroom at the historic Brooklyn Society For Ethical Culture at 53 Prospect Park West in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Building Worlds
Tuesdays 3:30-5:30pm at The Brooklyn Society For Ethical Culture
March 7 – April 4th (5 week class) $350
Ages 5-8
Using recyclables, natural materials, papier mache, clay, and more, we will be creating small worlds and dioramas that will transport us worlds away! Our students will replicate far flung scenes in the world, such as a marketplace in Marrakech, a Japanese tea house, and a traditional Balinese home. As we develop our pieces, we will also be learning about the cultures depicted. This class will be taught by Gigi indoors at our beautiful classroom at the historic Brooklyn Society For Ethical Culture at 53 Prospect Park West in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Reconnect With Nature (Morning Class)
Saturday mornings 9:30am-12pm in Prospect Park (drop off and pick up at the 9th street entrance)
March 18 – May 6 (no class April 15 and 22) (6 week class) $240
Ages 5-8
In this intimate Saturday weekend class, we will discover Prospect Park’s hidden spots as well as many edible and medicinal plants. We will also learn about the folklore and spiritual value of many plants and trees to world cultures throughout history. This will be a hands-on class, that invites students to interact closely with natural materials. We will learn traditional crafting methods and also apply our own innovative vision to our work. Classes will take place during light rains, but will be cancelled (refunds will be issued) if there are heavy rains or thunderstorms.

Dreamscape Workshop
Sundays, 2-4pm at The Brooklyn Society For Ethical Culture
March 19th and March 26th (2 week class) $200
Ages 6-10
A 2 day collaborative workshop exploring dreams, the history of theater in the ancient world, storytelling, play, and artistic expression with Gigi and led by artist and theater designer, Ma’moon Tebbo. Ma’moon has taught children at Manhattan Friends School and the Young Women’s Leadership School of Brooklyn. Students will be guided through a process of craft making to create a stage and costume pieces for their imagined characters.
